:) yeah guilty as charged. i think the hostility towards excel among technically literate academics (especially on twitter) is unwarranted

most of the criticism i've read about excel is either 7-10 years out of date or actually just a criticism of sloppy analysis

it's not ideal for scraping/machine learning/highly precise decimals (like >15 digits) but for 99% of academics those aren't relevant
