@hbdchick The Wikipedia article is plain wrong. Teratogenic toxins are the main cause.
What Wikipedia article is wrong? Seem to be replying to the wrong tweet. @timrogers2016 @hbdchick
It's says oligodactyly is usually genetic, but in the past 50 yrs toxins such as thalidomide have been the problem
And we know this how...? You are pretty short on citations when making claims. Do you have a review? @timrogers2016 @hbdchick
There is a large literature on thalidomide. An epidemic of phocomelia.pic.twitter.com/ysRSngERxK
Yes, and still you produce no relative estimates... How many children get these from genetic causes? @timrogers2016 @hbdchick
Do note that thalidomide use is presumably heritable too, so some of the numbers you give reflect genetic causation @timrogers2016 @hbdchick
thalidomide is NOT heritable. Fact. Ectrodactyly is.I am a thalidomide survivor, I kno these facts.
Your experience is irrelevant but your lack of understanding of behavioral genetics is not. @SueWagnerWhite @timrogers2016 @hbdchick
LOL ok, whatever you say. I'm not 'just' a thalidomide survivor, I'm a expert in the teratology.
