I've never heard of using just ancestry, but most exclude non-whites. My belief is influenced by study of entire pathway.
@UnsilencedSci do you know if there's an MAOA study that includes ancestry as covariate? Maybe it's just a proxy for other ancestry effects.

I don't trust candidate approach. Overall ancestry is an obvious potential confound since we know Africans are more criminal.

Pathway research goes back 60 years. Research slowed after successful replications in Europe & the US--also dogs, primates.
