The dataset is not supposed to cover everybody. if you think so, you have misunderstood its construction. @EALTurner @pseudoerasmus
Lost Enlightenment (Starr 2013) intro to Central Asia before this advanced civilization nuked by Mongols.
Thanks. Seems interesting. Will add to my to-read list. :) @EALTurner @pseudoerasmus
also check out http://scholar.harvard.edu/chaney/publications/religion-and-rise-and-fall-islamic-science … decline of islamic golden age prob. not due to Mongols! @EALTurner
disagree. Central Asia golden age was nuked by Mongels. Islamic golden age is another location - Iraq.
Khurasan, Bactria, Sogdiana very important regions for Central Asia. Susiana and Mesopotamia - another place.
ok ok Prof. Starr! but my tastes run toward thinking pre-Islamic C. Asia (especially under Sassanids) is more underrated !
there was a lot of human capital in Khurasan region during the Central Asian enlightenment. totally separate from Mid East.
