I mean, it's GSS, so you could easily download and try some other models. Tiny effect size usually means not robust.

There's a small positive correlation of wordsum and happy in out-of-sample GSS 2014 data (p<0.05 w/ reg & < 0.10 w/ ologit).

But, fwiw, in 2014 & 1972-2014 data, correlation of education w/ happiness is a lot larger than the correlation of wordsum.
