hmm are computers etc usually that heavily loaded in your other analyses relative to education and the like?

Dunno. This is individual-level data, the others were aggregate-level. Computer is generally a good proxy. Dunno about microwave. :P

how is this chart interpreted?
-
Like any other factor analysis loading chart.http://www.theanalysisfactor.com/factor-analysis-1-introduction/ …
-
What is the s-factor, and what are Pearson and latent analyses?
-
S, see e.g. http://openpsych.net/OQSPS/2016/05/inequality-across-us-counties-an-s-factor-analysis/ … The rest will have to wait, specific to this analysis (method variance check).
-
so having computer, washing machine, microwave have the highest correlation with the socioeconomic factor,
-
and higher S is associated with slightly higher risk of being a crime victim?
-
Crime victim loading is negligible. But it's self-report, so perhaps dodgy and only based on last 12 months.
