@fsnole1 @saraannhart Only covers one third of the topics tho. The only book that covers all that I know is The Blank Slate. Not a textbook

@KirkegaardEmil Interesting! It has all the topics I would want for an intro class. What are you thinking of? @fsnole1 -
@saraannhart @fsnole1 It's too political and not very numeric. I want the opposite. It's also pretty dated by now. -
@KirkegaardEmil ah! It seems like the whole field just leaves the text writing to him so there are no other options I know of! @fsnole1

@KirkegaardEmil I don't recall Plomin as particularly political. What content do you object to? Teaching, consider Plomin + review articles. -
@_Dan_Irons I never said Plomin was political. -
@KirkegaardEmil Oops, sorry. Twitter conversation chains are difficult to follow. -
@_Dan_Irons Pinker's book is political (in the sense that it covers a lot of political topics). I wanted a pure science book. -
@_Dan_Irons reason Why cover policy implications if one has no political power & it is likely to scare readers away from the actual science?

@KirkegaardEmil got to be blank slate by@sapinker -
@jamieamartin1@sapinker Yes, but it's not a textbook. Someone requested a textbook and it seems I can't give them one! -
@KirkegaardEmil@sapinker the plomin behavioral genetics is more textbook ish? Or reading list here https://dominiccummings.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/20130825-some-thoughts-on-education-and-political-priorities-version-2-final.pdf … -
@jamieamartin1@sapinker Sure, but I wanted a single book. I already have @RobertPlomin's book. -
@KirkegaardEmil@sapinker @RobertPlomin can't help you beyond that sorry!

@KirkegaardEmil Anthony Walsh, Biosociology covers BG, IQ, EP etc so it is close http://www.amazon.com/Biosociology-Bridging-Biology-Sociology-Anthony-Walsh/dp/1412852560/ref=la_B001HP3S2E_1_12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1462893424&sr=1-12 … -
@whyvert That does seem like a good choice, perhaps. But it's not on libgen... http://gen.lib.rus.ec/search.php?req=Biosociology%3A+Bridging+the+Biology-Sociology+Divide&lg_topic=libgen&open=0&view=simple&res=25&phrase=1&column=def … (maybe someone can put it there?)

I liked Wendy Johnson's Developing Difference. Not a textbook though?

@KirkegaardEmil Followup: Post a list of books to get into the N fields you work in. -
@ArtirKel I have never read a sociology textbook. Is there even a book like that which is informed by DP, BG and EP? (the unholy trio) -
@KirkegaardEmil I remeber there is a list in LessWrong post with 'the best textbook for X'. Maybe there's something there. -
@KirkegaardEmil I don't know if there is. Maybe looking at uni syllabi could be helpful
