@WilcoxNMP If marriage is unlikely for some groups, why not encourage cohabitation/family living/roommates as a way to increase stability?

@WilcoxNMP Probably due to selection. Encouraging abusive people to marry doesn't decrease the abuse.

@NinjaEconomics Part of story is selection, do doubt. But cohab=less fidelity, more jealousy, less commitment-all of which +odds of violence
