Not gonna fly: "This guy is older than 17 years with a probability of 65%..." I am pretty sure that numerically more reliable (although still not terribly reliable) way of estimating age is by looking at the person.

Not really. Current methods can't tell a 17 and 18 year old apart either. They can tell a 17 year old and 23 year old, say. One will be able to combine these methods (perhaps with ML) to get a quite precise range.
