I think the Democrats would be much better served by sticking closely to the facts and by refusing to engage in hyperbole. The facts are bad enough. There is no need to inflate them for cheap and temporary political points.

So the answer is lie or exaggerate? Trump is a very unpopular president. And that's likely because of his own boorishness and stupidity. Exaggerating leads to disappointment and polarization (e.g., what happened with the Mueller report).
