Since some people were criticizing me, I don't agree with that argument Bass offers, which is not good, but I rt this for the doctor heal thyself irony, and also stupid GxE diet claims.

He took powerful anti anxiety medication during a period of time wherein his wife was basically dying from cancer. Luckily it seems that she is recovering. I really wouldn't judge him over this, as tempting as it is...
-
It's easy to have sympathy for his plight, but ...pic.twitter.com/tBTlPB4vQR

he was always extremely cautious and reluctant to speak about his diet (eg GQ interview). one thing he reiterated is that nutrition sci generates weak evidence, and he'd preface his comments with 'im not an expert' (eg rogan). thus, i really think these comments are out-of-order
-
Yes that is my read as well. I have followed JP from his rise to fame. I don't recall his diet being anything central to his message. The stress of being in the spot light and on tour along with his family issues must have been brutal.
-
His path led him back to his room to focus on himself and his family. He has arrived I imagine after helping millions and making a fortune I assume. No one here gets out alive or without a struggle.

It's not a bullshit diet. It's an extremely effective diet that saved his daughter's life. He is saying that it only works for their genes as they have that heritable illness in the family. Also, his addiction issues are very well known. He talks about them all the time.

'bullshit diet' is quite a strong opinion, is it based on strong evidences or just feelings ?

When due to an unbearable pressure, caused by a series of personal catastrophes mixed up with a perpetual requirement of a public presence, a psychopharmacologically trained clinician faces paralyzing accretion of anxiety and still chooses drugs, what say you? HE DONE EAT BAD

He has significant achievements, fame and probably earned a small fortune in the last few years. I don't recall him ever being quite as nasty as your post.

Person trying to gain random clout by talking snarky about someone’s health. No one should be surprised.

It's also not a surprise when a cardiologist dies of a heart attack or when a PhD in Psychology is batshit crazy. People get interested in problems they and their family face. Plus also, genes.

A bit harsh, he’s the only self help person I know of that acknowledges heritability of iq and personality

He has always expressed anxiety. It's pre-existing to the diet. The addiction likely is too.

Not everyone can handle it to be hated by most people. He is a public enemy and gets a lot of hostility. He has to fear for his livelihood and his physical safety The "anti-gay preacher is a secret homo" thing is probably just confirmation bias, blown up by the media.
