School teaches a lot of useless stuff. They say "but we need to learn that", even though most adults forget it pretty fast. Build a curriculum based on what adults remember and kick out the stuff they forgpt. They will use the free time probably for gender and white privilege

The concept of carefully working backwards is applicable all over the place though, and algebra is one of the first places this is used.
