Not really. Underdogs are exciting to bring in members from higher class groups one should think. Hence the odd pattern with whites Asians are higher social status, at least by usual metrics of wealth etc., but perhaps not culture or attractiveness.

This doesn't match the reality of coastal cities. Asian-white pairing is very widespread. Perhaps it is the opinions of the older generation skewing rather than the ones in doing the coupling.

Another factor could be the opinions of middle american whites where this is more a theoretical question than a real option.

A few potential factors: - One of the least culturally "familiar" minorities - Directly compete with whites for resources - Stigma from certain kinds of men who get Asian wives - Asian men having low social status (being male, not being NAM, unflattering stereotypes)

Asians aren't very enthusiastic about their family members marrying anyone! Any bets most of those enthusiastic about marrying blacks are Filipino?
