Whoops. If you exclude studies written by a guy who pleaded guilty to faking data, incentives do *not* have a statistically significant effect on IQ test performance.https://twitter.com/pnin1957/status/1172537339673026560 …

Sarah Constantin added,
I would still guess that people are smarter when they're more motivated, but my main piece of experimental (as opposed to anecdotal) data is gone.
Scarcity in Angry Birds improves motivation and performance. But scarcity of money decreases IQ ~12 points if primed in the subject. Authors explanation is something like “finances become more salient than test”. If ‘focus == motivation’, then your hypothesis is suppported
No, these money priming studies died in replication as well, along with every other social priming study I can think of.
This is not priming in the classical sense and is more like distraction, and as far as I’m aware a replication by OSF has not been attempted. Do you have a link to a failed replication?

OSF is a repository site, not an organization that does replications.

Emil O W Kirkegaard added,
None of these are of the actual scarcity experiments as far as I can tell. Am I missing something?
