THIS! Opposition to the reality of the heritability of human traits stem from fear of the practical application of it, that is, eugenicshttps://twitter.com/KirkegaardEmil/status/1154323883153088512 …

Which one might interpret as a kind of implicit begging the question, since, if hereditarians are broadly correct, eugenic measures are a class of effective policies. Preventing the research based on the premise that eugenics is bad, seems to assume eugenics would not work.

It assumes that eugenics = mass extermination of people, many of whom might be "good". So the harm inflicted upon individuals by eugenic policies outweighs any benefit it may confer to the collective gene pool. Short sighted, hysterical, and envy-based thinking.

Most eugenics was not Nazi extermination style. Most of it was sterilize dull and mentally ill people so they don't have (more) kids that others have to pay for and who will likely also cause more issues (and so on until regression towards the mean saves us).

Ironically, of course, eugenics policies were implemented by the social progressives in Scandinavia, and was opposed by the conservatives. :p
