Which one might interpret as a kind of implicit begging the question, since, if hereditarians are broadly correct, eugenic measures are a class of effective policies. Preventing the research based on the premise that eugenics is bad, seems to assume eugenics would not work.

It assumes that eugenics = mass extermination of people, many of whom might be "good". So the harm inflicted upon individuals by eugenic policies outweighs any benefit it may confer to the collective gene pool. Short sighted, hysterical, and envy-based thinking.

Modern medicine & morals, which serve personal advantage through virtue-signalling, undermine the natural eugenics of natural selection, which MUST therefore be replaced by artificial eugenics, which we already do, but don't call it that. So much Orwellian doublethink.
