ha! "middle school" is exactly how i've described this. i think i won't give up threading, but will back off from most convos except w/folks who first prove themselves sane.

I've had a paper rejected because the editor claimed he was unable to find any objective reviewers due to the lack of author blinding in the journal.

It was a paper where I was a middle author I think, and my coauthor (corresponding author) was given this explanation after he pressed the editor.
