This is why I’m a bit skeptical of preregistered adversarial collaborations. The require people on both sides to agree a priori on what study would cause them to update their priors. And for some, no study would change their mind.

I've only seen one published adversarial collaboration in the wild, and it was on a theoretical paper. I think your concern is valid. Especially if we're "adversarial" because we disagree on X and Y, but we agree on Z--so let's collaborate on Z and pretend it's adversarial.
