Yes, I agree that predicting within-family differences is the best. I know several of these studies, but open for more Murray has done on IQ. McGue, Rustichini, et al on IQ and other traits especially for educational mobility. Genomic within-family e.g. Belsky et al (2018) etc
Those are sibling controls. I am talking about parent child design which is imo more interesting.
Yes, McGue et al have looked at parent-child differences. If child is brighter than parent, less neurotic than parent, etc then is more likely to move up in educational achievement. Why do you think this design is more interesting than sibling-differences?
