Do you have a preferred take on the gender equality paradox? I've heard ones that suggest equal freedom/higher incomes allows people to express/signal their gender more. Is there a hereditarian view that explains correlation btw equality and gender balance with a third thing?

More interesting option is that genetic sex differences are larger in better countries, and this results in more division of labor, which is more effective and helps explain why these countries are great. Also aligns with male-driven intelligence directional selection.

I don't know whether this hypothesis is right, but it's an alternative to the environmentalist one of greater opportunities. I note that sex differences in intelligence are larger in north Euros too (and Ashkenazim!) in line with personality differences.

@DavidePiffer wrote a paper on this back in 2014. Back when I reviewed it and thought it implausible, but now I'm having second thoughts. https://openpsych.net/paper/39@jonatanpallesen did the meta of Ashkenazim sex diff in intelligence. -
Thank you!
