There isn't really a good reason for Irish to have low IQ though. They are fully north European genetically. They don't live in extreme harsh conditions but they aren't great either, you still have to ration for winter.
They are not Germanics though, mostly. These climate models don't give entirely right results, but roughly right ones. A major problem is that the central Asian peoples like the Turkmenistanis (who are also Caucasians) do pretty bad despite living in bad winter climate.

The English are hardly Germanic either, 30-40% at most, the Dutch too, are mostly descended from the same people there prior to germanics (northern bell beakers/celtic tribes). Regardless, Irish are much closer to Danes genetically than most Germans are to Danes.
