Did anyone try running the Stan code in the Norwegian paper, supposedly showing that IQ decline operates entirely within families? "Within families" seems key to me. The coalescence of IQ-related genes (driven by careful marriages) might be a difficult thing to maintain over time. Success leads to complacence, leads to different standards in mate selection, leads to dilution of the IQ-related genes.
