One could do multi-level model with interviewers, yeah. Or simpler, regress out interviewer race effects (if any).

Jay's just being lazy and posting useless criticism on Twitter. A large replication is obviously useful, not everybody shares his prior that apparently ~100% chance of raters biasing results. As we know, this didn't prevent the finding in WLS, so why believe it did in ANES?

Attractiveness ratings in the Add Health are suspect, too suspect to be used for certain things. So for the purpose you suggested, yes, crap.
