      Conservatives are more attractive. Evidence from ANES and WLS.       Lazy criticism much. It is independent in WLS, and there is no reason to think subject characteristics influence interviewers to rate towards conservatism. These interviewers are probably left-leaning.pic.twitter.com/5mxaHbPdvQ

      One could do multi-level model with interviewers, yeah. Or simpler, regress out interviewer race effects (if any).

      Also, it’s quite possible the effect may not replicate. I’d like to see it in a larger mono-ethinic sample that also has independent raters.

          I wrote about this before. Raters that are aware of other characteristics of subject aren’t going give reliable attractiveness estimates. In the Add Health this led to a spurious relationship between attractiveness and IQ.
