The article entirely misses Quillette’s most objectionable themes: HBD/eugenics/race science, nationalism, right-wing anti-diversity sentiment, anti-immigration views, Islamophobia. By failing to address these (and Q’s narrative manipulation), it’s not a good analysis.

Yeah, I think the fact that people really struggle to understand why Quillette raises ire (not just on the left) more so than the Federalist, Daily Caller or Fox really demonstrates how little people listen to others on here. You pointed out some obvious examples.

The defense of Carl left me uneasy, and it wasn’t evident to me at the time exactly how to parse the various claims about his work and guilts by association - I gave Quillette the benefit of the doubt because the letter condemning him had the appearance of a social media (1/2)
