Do you know if there is an online report from the commission that looked into Carl's research? I cannot find anything. I am particularly interested in how the accusation of his research being "methodologically flawed" is substantiated.

Yes, that one I saw. It is true that Carl published in some lightweight journals (who doesn't?), but he also published in respectable places, so I am a bit puzzled about the methods pt.

It's a bullshit argument because there is no good evidence really that journal impact factor/prestige relates to science quality. It's kind of a long running scam related to academics' need to publish or perish. Have you read the review by

Right; in principle I agree, o/c. My pt is just that pushing the methods pt is more difficult in the case of someone who does have heavy pubs to his credit. Thx for the pointer to the paper. Will read.
