One of his controversial papers: https://openpsych.net/files/papers/Carl_2016a.pdf … Why did he use data from http://thereligionofpeace.com (an unpublished Islamophobic website) when a perfectly respectable academic database is available? https://www.start.umd.edu/gtd/search/Results.aspx?country=603 … Would you call that good scholarship?

He used 4 different measures, of which 2 are not based on the website you don't like. They are all fairly highly correlated. What does it even mean, "unpublished website"? You're apparently suggesting one cannot use sources that haven't been previously used in some study.pic.twitter.com/oE0lWgIgVW

Emil, I gather you're one of the co-founders of the OpenPsych pseudo-journals and that your sole academic qualification is a BA in Linguistics. The authors of TROP are unknown and their methodology has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal - unlike the GTD.

@GoodwinMJ what's your opinion of the OpenPsych journals, which include Open Quantitative Sociology & Political Science (in which this paper was published)? Hint ... https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/OpenPsych_pseudojournals#Unqualified_referees …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
Various replies to RatWiki are found in our editorial. That particular criticism there is unwarranted. Educational degrees aren't the only way to have expertise. Everybody knows that. All editorial board members know the respective fields well.https://openpsych.net/paper/57
