To defend my reasoning regarding OpenPsych: The peer review process exists but is not double blinded and free for anyone to see. Arguably does not hurt quality and makes for interesting reading but obvs is the reason the journal is attacked in this context
There is little evidence that review single/double blinding works, and in any case, 100s of mainstream journals don't use double blinding either. Of course, the specific reviewing type is not really the reason for the attacks. It's the content. MQ has single-blinded reviewing.
