That one time when a bug in SPSS et al(?) caused the wrong statistic to be reported, partial eta² instead of eta². This metric is usually larger, so effects were inflated. Also eta² is biased upwards when n is small. Probably only affected some thousands of studies, no biggie.pic.twitter.com/V3Uc3aD4Bn

A potentially bigger issue is that SPSS treats probability weights as frequency weights and, hence, all data analyses in SPSS using weights (e.g., most election research) are likely biased.

Excel 2003 and prior gave incorrect normal-pdf and chi-sq results. Wonder how many analyses were thrown off by this flaw.
