It’s a prefectly valid point. Like it or not agendas will sneak in. The only question is whether you’re willing to admit it or pretend to have the view from nowhere.

It's beyond admitting the agendas. Awareness of agendas is necessary for keeping them in check. Isn't Sears effectively saying they should take over?

Well I’m replying to a tweet that quote tweets a subtweet of Sears so I can’t claim to know what he really means. The way I see it, these are inescapably non-neutral activities: the only choices are to hide it or embrace it, and preferably one should do the latter.
