The British were planning to secretly seize northern Sweden's iron ore, as they were Germany's sole supplier of it. This was the real intention of Finnish intervention.
That one time when UK and France wanted to send help to Finland who was being invaded by Soviet Russia, but Norway and Sweden blocked it because afraid of Germany who was behind the Soviet invasion anyway.

There also was that one time before that when USSR wanted to defend Czechoslovakia from Germany and Poland blocked them... Seems like noone wanted to interfere.
