I generally don’t disdain any type of person, but I do truly dislike academics who loudly and proudly claim to champion free speech and inquiry but who throw other scholars who exercise those freedoms under the proverbial bus.

In Bayesian terms, P(S|N)=P(S)P(N|S)/(P(S)P(N|S)+P(not S)P(N|not S)), where S is sane and N is "No to diagnosis". If S=0.99; N|S=0.99; N|not S=0.99. P(S|N)= 0.99 (probability that one is sane if they reject the diagnosis)
