Here's another tweet series of moral posturing, while pretending to be about science. No evidence cited, just claiming stuff is discredited, or authors are evil. Will someone tell these scientists how science works? Seems their degrees aren't helping. https://twitter.com/EveForster/status/1091382929350103040?s=19 …

And of course, the usual per-emptive block is in effect. :) I don't think I've ever interacted with this woman.pic.twitter.com/MBSVm8O8fK

Two quick questions if I can please. Do men tend to perform better in IQ tests. ie the more rigorous ones like Raven's matrices? Also, is it right, men larger brain volume? (I don't keep up with sex difference research)

Average, men have larger brains and on average men have higher IQs (2-4pts). Head size correlates with IQ approximately 40%, brain volume too, though less %. Ravens isn't more rigorous. It's a myth that it's a pure g test (correlates around 70%).

Current opinion on brain size/vol x intelligence is maybe r = .30 or so. I'd say the true value is probably somewhere between .25 and .45, depending on how the adjustments for measurement error works out and sampling issues. (Correlations are not percentages.)

Of course, this matter has little to do with our study since we didn't use any brain variables at all.
