Do you have any knowledge if 23andMe results are concordant with Ancestry com results?

Is the French, German, British, and Irish ancestry just an artifact of Viking ancestry in those countries?

“Chief” is an honorific and not the subject of a joke. Also, the word “Amerindian” is considered by Indigenous peoples to perpetuate ideas of colonial harm that (we wish) would not be continued by academics.
-
The false positive rate for Indigenous of the Americas is high anyway, certainly higher than your “trace” ancestry according to those results

Native American is only one category? For the whole continent???

It’s cause they haven’t done enough commercial studies to break it down yet

Probably a fake positive. My guess is due to the extra ANE component (the one not from yamnaya). It's either due to the extra CHG via the jewish/mediteranean ancestry and/or the extra EHG/WSHG from the baltics-Scandinavia region.

You’re probably not aware of this, but non-indigenous people laying claim to Native American identity based on commercial DNA tests is a very sensitive issue within the community due to the fact that it perpetuates a Eurocentric understanding of indigenous identity that
-
undermines tribal sovereignty and kinship networks and encourages cultural appropriation. It’s certainly not something for a non-indigenous person to joke about due to the levels of real harm it causes. Kim TallBear’s “Native American DNA” is a helpful resource for learning more.

That "Amerind" sliver could be Jewish; Jewish comedian Larry David got a high Amerindian reading in an early 23andMe-like test.

Same for me. Lost 0.2% Asian and 0.1% African traces and got 0.1% Native American instead. Remaining 99.9% are (mostly Germanic) European.

Makes sense you don’t seem to have bone density of a full Scandinavian male.
