After reading Ray Monk's bio. of Bertrand Russell it is hard to take anything Bertie says seriously on anything except the Ramified Theory of Types. And those who have would prefer almost any other exposition. Monk has a glorious bit on Russell's Love Rectangle (my term).

Russell was right about WW1 (against it) and right about Bolshevism (against it from the start), which shows better judgment than many of his contemporaries

Excellent. I do believe that this sort of problem was well known to liberals until fairly recently when the Left took power and found un-PC speech to be a major threat.
