Ireland didn't converge that much, but of course selective migration is a big issue for that comparison. http://emilkirkegaard.dk/en/wp-content/uploads/lynn-2015-irish-iq.pdf …pic.twitter.com/KVoznl24uA

PISA scores higher than the IQ scores. SES for Ireland is lower than UK etc., so likely direction of error is that PISA-based estimate is too high. He suggests reasons why that might be but leaves it open question for future. Countries sometimes game the PISA sampling.pic.twitter.com/ftlRkc1gC8

It's easy enough to settle this one too. Do the admixture study using UKBB dataset. Does Irish ancestry relate to lower IQ and SES? Even with some selective migration, this result is predicted from genetic theory. One can of course do the same in US whites.

Curious - why is the paper comparing 20th century IQ results (one set from 1981 for ex) and 21st century PISA results (2012 is mentioned, a full 31 years later)?

Ireland's PISA scores of around 500-510 may not even be anything special. We don't truly know the PISA scores of any country's European native population, even the "Native" category only counts 1st and 2nd gen immigrants. Ireland has less migrants than most of W. Eu.

In other words, 505 on PISA =/ 100 standard British IQ. PISA scores falling in W. Eu consistently falling from 2000, East Germany's/Finland's/Estonia's abnormally high PISA scores(few migrants), seem to indicate so.
