It could be construed as misleading, IF conservatives who distrust scientists still trusted the science they produce. Lets check that real quick....hmmm we just got out of Paris and cut coal regulations? Guess that's a no then.

Side note, you and your article proposed this hypothesis about scientists engaging in liberal activism affecting conservatives trust, and yet provides no evidence, correlative nor causal to support it. Saying it's a probable cause is irresponsible and of course...unscientific.

That's a fair point, sure but if conservatives were distrusting scientists but still accepting of science, they wouldn't constantly advocate to ignore decades of data on anthropogenic climate change, and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
