As for his paper, I can't really make sense of it. It's an unsystematic review of some government programs reported in grey literature. He thinks the evidence is limited and the programs be investigated in large randomized trials. I agree with that, so what's the claim here?pic.twitter.com/NL4eq0yd3b

I was able to find one RCT along the lines he wants, I think. Too small for my usual criteria 312<500, and found the usual small boost in scholastic scores immediately following intervention on some tests. No follow-up.
