Are you kidding? Solar and wind are literally the cheapest two forms of electrical production we have. Moreover, they tend to generate the most power precisely at times of peak demand, and at different times from one another.https://qz.com/1125355/solar-and-wind-are-now-the-cheapest-energy-around-unless-you-need-to-store-it/ …
Solar is not cheaper in many countries, especially not in my/OP's country. Land wind can be cheap but is unstable and unprofitable to sell because every neighbor also has tons of it when the wind blows. Offshore wind is expensive. Gas is obviously a fossil fuel.

Correct on solar in Scandinavia, obviously, but the comment did not reference geography. I already stated wind is unstable, noting gas as a good counterbalance. Gas is, incidentally, quite cheap near the North Sea. Tidal power is also plentiful and becoming more competitive.

Then why are you making such an uncharitable interpretation? No one sane would claim that solar is not cheap in desert countries. Of course an implicit reference to some geography is there. Author is Danish retweeted by another Dane, which geo do you think is being referred here?

He quote-tweeted Elon Musk, a businessman doing business primarily in America with heavy support from the American government, residing in America less than 300 miles from some fairly enormous deserts.
