Emil, since I'm not an academic and this outside my field. Is Elsevier the cancer I read around online? Read some nasty thing here and there.
Apparently, there are still people with balls around in Sweden!
Elsevier sues Swedish ISPs and wins in court, getting a block order for libgen and sci-hub (!!). ISP replies by... blocking Elsevier's own site as well!

It would probably take a long essay to detail the ways Elsevier is bad for science since it involves going over copyright law, alternatives, science history etc., but the (my) TL;DR answer is that lefties are right here: Elsevier is capitalism gone evil.
