New example of the kind of message about race/ancestry/genetic differences for which I wish scientists (and others) had a better means to respond. So many, like those I wrote about here https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/18/insider/science-genetics-white-supremacy.html …, do not know how to parse.pic.twitter.com/7rNHCiT25H

These people know that improved PGS calculation methods, causal variant mapping, and trans-ethnic GWASs are doing to provide PGSs that are unbiased wrt. ancestry. This is great for medicine etc., but of course also means one can easily check the race and IQ question.

      1) I guess you mean "ancestry'' & IQ 2) as it's been explained to me, mean PGS for any trait will vary between populations regardless of its genetic architecture 3) what i think you care about is whether natural selection caused it, which is hard to know:https://gcbias.org/2018/03/14/polygenic-scores-and-tea-drinking/ …

Also, why do you care about investigating "the race and IQ question" via mean polygenic scores? That's a genuine question. What do you think it will tell you?

Lastly - I'm all for human population geneticists talking more about the implications their research. See my stories/threads. But I have not seen that they are "trying to spread" a false impression as @gcochran99 suggests. He has declined to cite an example. Do you know of any?

Just read basically anything Turkheimer (@ent3c) or his former student Paige Harden (@kph3k) writes on the topic of race and IQ. Turkheimer is somewhat comical at this point. https://ideologjammin.wordpress.com/2017/06/01/the-mechanical-turkheimer-a-response/ … http://emilkirkegaard.dk/en/?p=7257

The history of left-wing obscurantism on race /& IQ is very long. You can begin reading original papers in reply to Jensen's seminal 1969 article. Ask yourself: who has history proven right the last 50 years? Who was political and who was scientific? http://arthurjensen.net/?p=838

Since you are a journalist you might find the chapter 22 in this book very interesting. It's one of my all time favorite story pieces on this topic. Note that the author later made the jump from journalism and is actually a mainstream IQ researcher today! http://arthurjensen.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Helmuth-Nyborg-The-Scientific-Study-of-General-Intelligence-FIXED-2003.pdf …
