Very understudied topic, but I suspect ability tilt has far reaching covariates in social science reaching into politics, mental health, career choice and more. @ZachG932 found a dataset that enables this analysis, just didn't have the time yet.

Lakatos was actually probably mathematically tilted =) His first degrees were in math and he was one of the most important figures in philosophy of mathematics.

As a rule don't think you can say philosophers are verbally tilted. Analytic philosophy was founded by Frege (mathematician) & Russell. 3 most influential philosophers of the late 20th cent based on citations were Quine/Kripke/Lewis—borderline mathematicians (though also high v).

A lot of people come to philosophy via math and physics. Of course some subfields of philosophy attract the verbally tilted (e.g., applied ethics). But some subfields definitely attract the mathematically tilted (e.g., epistemology, metaphysics, logic, even phil language).

Many prominent philosophers had parents or others who were involved in religion or theology. I was surprised a little while back reading about the run up to the Godel talk in 1929 how deeply Bertrand Russell's thinking and others was grounded in a religious upbringing-
