I hate the "PC police" relationship to truth as much as anybody, but It's kinda hard to see how this is not just the equivalent of exaggerated use of Nazi-comparisons.
-
Is nothing just funny to you, man? :p
-
I think you yourself admitted that it wasn't "just" fun to you either. Didn't you? So ... the next time a SJW compares you to a nazi in a funny way, you'll accept it as "just" a joke?
-
Might be, depends on how it is made. :p
-
... and all I'm doing here is to point out that you risk a double standard.
-
Not really. You're just being the usual Twitter party pooper who objects to jokes because take everything literally.
-
nope... I just thought the "joke part" was not that funny and the non-joke part of it (giving the impression that Russia has more free speech) was feeding into an already way to widespread myth.
-
... and btw... I find it debatable which is the greatest threat against free speech in the west. The PC tyranny or that large parts of the Trump base think the press is the "enemy of the people":https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-republicans-press-media-enemy-of-american-people-news-trust-ipsos-poll-a8481686.html …

In practice Russia engages in more internal censorship around topics like immigration and islam than Western countries as part of an effort to keep the peace in an economy that their elites see as dependent on Central Asian labor
