My parents believed, based on the latest psychological research, that raising a child bilingual would impair their math ability. So they didn't raise me bilingual. Has anyone replicated those studies?

This was state of the art in the mid 1960s. My mother was a psych MA, though. I could ask if she remembers any, or if just heard it from profs or textbooks.
