Took them 4 years. Doesn't say who the reviewers were. Editor is Galor of fame for bizarre genetic model with optimal level of diversity curiously at the amount that Euros have 🤔. Might have shopped around for journals a few times.https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10887-016-9130-y …

Comparing the working paper versions with the published versions would be an interesting window into the biasing effects of review process. Which caveats gets added? Claims deleted?

Japan is a notable outlier, though. It was never colonized, and yet deliberately sought out and deployed European technologies and methods of organizing industry, which it then adapted in its own manner over time. Colonialism per se was not needed for tech diffusion.

It was invaded by Euros, but resisted big migration while learning from Euro tech/politics. Best combo for a non-Euro people, but not one all were able to do.

That's not a euro invasion, that's just coming to grips with reality.

Literally some Euros traveling there and with threatening military action (actual invasion) forcing locals to be open to Euro stuff.

May require more extensive controls. That said, I'm not entirely surprised, given that European influences on e.g. legal systems and property rights could have encouraged later inflows of additional European investment capital.

Can't really do much with these national data. Sample size inherently limited. People need to get serious about using subnational data. I was trying to pave the way. :)https://openpsych.net/paper/12
