That's actually not what that article claims. It accuses some of abusing the term "left". However (as I said) the terms left/right are really useless anyway. ... and I would need some examples of individuals to judge whether the article is orwellian or not.

Their definition of "alt right" is "racist", and everything not blank slate is racist according to them, so basically everybody is alt right to them. Democrats were "alt right" in the 1950s, soldiers who fought Nazis were alt right too...
-
still.. I need examples. Without knowing who they are actually talking about it's kinda like "sure... such people *could* exist".

Historically that is actually simply true, only that the label "right" was misused. * attributions left & right came from the 1789 national assembly * fascistic movements been sole created by socialists/communists, namely "Giovanni Gentile" * national-socialists are socialists
-
> national-socialists are socialists Not sure that's using "socialism" in the same way as Marx did.
-
Idiosyncrasy I am sure that stalinists didn't use "socialism" in the same way as Marx did. I am sure that trotskyists didn't use "socialism" in the same way as Marx did. I am sure that labor didn't use "socialism" in the same way as Marx did. I am sure that [] didn't use []

If U think I comitted a no-true-scotsman fallacy... just say it. However, bear in mind that such a thing exists as borrowing a diff. ideology's nomenclature in spite of in reality being something else. "Libertarian" springs to mind. Or "jesus christ church of latter day saints"..
-
... and the "argument" U just put forward could just as well be used to argue against any of these other appropriations of terminology. U could argue for Mormons actually being Christians in exactly the same way in response to someone pointing out that there are significant diffs

No true scotsman fallacy, not only that. I think that ideologists & demagogues put forward arbitrary differentiations, & then in consequence humans suffer throughout these variations. As a human being, I am a defective creature, & if an ideology wants to overtake with an idea,

not only me but the masses, we see the forefront of fascism. Why did I mention "Govanni Gentile" in the post before?
-
... You probably know that better than me. As a person living in a society largely shaped by social democracy (although not being a social democra) I just see silly talking-point coming from the US trying to one day make venezuela==scandinavia and the next make socialism=nazism.

... the last sentence .... as if "trannies" is a political view. Kinda made the whole tweet less trustworthy.
-
Wow ... so ... OK... next question Emil. Are "Bronies" a "left" or a "right" ideology and where do pastel colored fairy-tale creatures fit in the political compass and why? ;-)
