I assume this is due to the changes in size & composition of the Asian American population; ie it’s significantly larger & more South Asian than it once was. As such, anti-communist refugees have been overshadowed by both more “Americanized” Asians & more immigrants.
Also, later gen. Asians regress towards the mean. Being conformist, they suck up to the dominant ideology of the country, i.e. standard left-wing as seen in media.
