Do you ever worry that overtly racist posts will undermine your credibility as a supposedly disinterested scientist?

Agree he should be more careful.

There are basically no disinterested scientists. Everybody except extreme autists have an agenda. It is an unavoidable part of being human. The point of science is to reduce the agendas influence on scientific results by making the process resistant to them (and other errors).
-
As for using 'alt-right terminology', whatever man. These people have invented a lot of good terms for describing things going on. I'm not the type to avoid using words just because they were invented by the 'wrong people'.
-
I wasn't talking about terminology, for the record. I was referring to the fact that you were half-ironically praising Einstein for racist remarks.

I think this means the theory of relativity is wrong now

To be honest it was a bit sad to learn this. Growing up in India we learnt a lot about his humanitarian quotes and I always marveled that such a great scientist was also a nice human being. He was an inspiration and disappointing to see that such crude racism lurked in him.
-
What exactly prevents a person noting the existence of substantial group differences from being "a nice human being"? It's like religious puritans complaining that successful person X is not sufficiently religious.

Einstein died in 1955. According to this article, these diary entries were written in 1922 and 1923. Did Einstein views on race or Asians change during that time?

Einstein on Asians sounds surprisingly similar to current day Ivy League admissions offices.

How could a theoretical physicist be able to generalize from his observations?

Judging people in the past by contemporary social norms and ideas is absurd. Einstein was a democratic socialist and pacifist who publicly fought for civil rights. Condemning him for not being “enlightened” enough just exposes the dangers of modern zealotry
