Read that paper for my dissertation. There's mixed evidence on this subject, see also: Conley and Rauscher (2013) Lee and Conley (2015) Hopcroft (2016) Warner and Steel (1999) Washington (2008)
I recall seeing a longitudinal study before that found that having kids only made women more conservative. Maybe different countries or outcome variables. This study used voting, I think the other used self-reported agreement with various statements.
If I remember correctly the ones that I cited above are all UK or US. Some are self-reported ideology, some are civilian voting, others are politician voting patterns/support for certain issues. Interesting topic!
