I recall seeing a longitudinal study before that found that having kids only made women more conservative. Maybe different countries or outcome variables. This study used voting, I think the other used self-reported agreement with various statements.

If I remember correctly the ones that I cited above are all UK or US. Some are self-reported ideology, some are civilian voting, others are politician voting patterns/support for certain issues. Interesting topic!

Might this be confounded because poor people are more likely to have daughters and poor people will also find leftists policies more appealing?

This 2010 article might be picking up women's rights sentiment during a time it was brewing, now of course females already dominate nearly everything under age 30
